Laurent-Perrier Grand Siecle
Laurent-Perrier Grand Siecle 26
Freshness, lightness, and elegance are characteristics of Laurent-Perrier's champagnes. Laurent-Perrier is today recognized as one of the leading champagne brands in the world, and the family-owned house exports its champagnes to more than 160 countries worldwide. Laurent-Perrier champagne is unique thanks to the house's creative approach to winemaking as well as the high standard of consistency and quality.
The Laurent-Perrier champagne house was founded in 1812 by André Michel Pierlot. The name came when Mathilde Emilie Perrier, widow of Eugène Laurent, put the two family names together when she decided to expand the business. Her daughter, Eugénie Hortense Laurent, inherited the business in 1925 and sold it to Marie-Louise Lanson de Nonancourt in 1939. Her son, Bernard de Nonancourt, was in the Resistance during the war, and when the war ended in 1945 he apprenticed in the house. He got to know all parts of champagne production, from the grape to the cellar, before being appointed director three years later.
Bernard de Nonancourt was driven by a passion for champagne, respect for traditional values, and most importantly, respect for people. He left his mark on the champagne house with his free spirit and creative boldness. He established good relations with the winegrowers and wisely combined innovation with tradition. He created Laurent-Perrier's style signature of freshness, lightness, and elegance and developed a champagne range that is now exported to more than 160 countries. All of this is the reason why Laurent-Perrier enjoys great respect today and is one of the leading champagne houses in the world.
